Happy 50th Birthday, VIP!

April 1st marks VIP Community Services’ 50th anniversary – and it is no April Fool’s joke! We are so grateful to all who worked tirelessly to make VIP what it is today, and for the ongoing support of our funders, partners, and friends. Above all, we are humbled by the trust our clients place in us each and every day and the opportunity to help people like Luz (see below). For over five decades, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing comprehensive and integrated services. For fifty years we’ve prioritized the needs of the people we serve. Today, we provide integrated medical and mental health care, addiction services, housing and shelter, job training and placement, harm reduction and other wraparound services. We look forward to the next 50 years, working hand in hand with our communities, people served, partners, and supporters, to continue making a meaningful impact. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Debbian Fletcher-Blake

President and Chief Executive Officer

Luz D. is the inaugural tenant of our newly opened 65-unit supportive housing unit, located at 1899 Crotona Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457.

“They told me ‘Luz, you are moving in today,’ and that was awesome,” Luz exclaimed. “When I came to the building, I was already informed that I was getting a queen-size bed. I also received pots, utensils, and plates. They provided me with mops and a broom to help me settle in.”
