Today, we solemnly observe Transgender Day of Reme Today, we solemnly observe Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual day of acknowledgement and mourning for those members of the Trans community who have lost their lives to acts of transphobic violence.

Transgender women and people of color are most heavily impacted. More than 80% of murders since 2013 have been committed against transgender women and, of those, 80% are Black. Unfortunately, youth of trans experience are the recipients of these violent attacks as well.

Today, let us remember those who we have lost, and tomorrow, let us work together to ensure we create a future where days like today are no longer necessary.
