Ms. Tyson would often say she could not afford the luxury of just being an actress. She chose to use her career as a platform to challenge racism and sexism and break down barriers for other Black women. Ms. Tyson died January 28, 2021. A public viewing will be held on February 15 (10am-6pm) at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. 🙏
