July Health Tip
July is Chronic Disease Awareness Month, a time to highlight the impact of chronic health conditions and the importance of prevention, early detection, and ongoing care.
According to the Center for Disease Control, three in four American adults are living with at least one chronic condition. Managing these conditions with regular medical care can improve quality of life and help prevent serious complications.
“Chronic disease management is about more than treating symptoms, it’s about helping people live healthier, fuller lives,” Darcia Bryden-Currie, Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer. “Through preventive care, education, and ongoing support, we can help our community build a healthier future together.”
At VIP, our primary care team provides comprehensive chronic health condition management for conditions such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
July is also UV Safety Month, making it the perfect time to protect yourself while enjoying the outdoors. Follow these simple sun safety tips:
- Wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours, or more often if swimming or sweating.
- Seek shade, especially during peak sun hours.
- Wear wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing.
