August Health Tip

Each August, National Immunization Awareness Month highlights the importance of routine vaccinations and the role they play in protecting people of all ages. Staying up-to-date on recommended vaccines can help protect you and your community from preventable illnesses.

Immunization is one of the most cost-effective public health interventions, averting an estimated 4.4 million deaths yearly, according to UNICEF.

“Vaccinations are an important part of preventive health care at every stage of life,” said Darcia Bryden-Currie, Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer. “By staying current on recommended vaccines, individuals and families are protecting their health and the health of those around them.”

As an approved Vaccine For Children (VCF) provider, VIP Community Services provides no-cost routine vaccines for children ages 18 and younger. An annual physical is also a great opportunity for you or your children to review vaccination records and determine whether any vaccines are needed.
