October Health Tip

This October, VIP Community Services is supporting those affected by breast cancer and promoting the importance of early detection. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. When breast cancer is caught in its early, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate is over 99%. “Early detection can make a significant difference in breast cancer outcomes,” said Darcia Bryden-Currie, Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer. “We encourage women to stay up to date with recommended screenings and talk with their health care provider about any concerns they may have.” At VIP Community Services, we take women’s health seriously. Our health care services include regular check-ups and mammogram screenings, and a mobile mammography van regularly brings breast screenings directly into the community, helping make essential care more accessible and affordable. Contact VIP Community Services today to schedule an appointment or learn more about our women’s health care services.
